Career Paths

There are many directions a young person can go when choosing a career. Some career paths are more appealing than others depending on an individuals likes and dislikes as well as their given inclinations. As our society continues to move forward into the future there are careers that will begin to either change to meet the needs of future generations or they will become outdated and cease to exist. For those lucky individuals who are technologically inclined they will be at the forefront of our societies move toward a more advanced future. For those that do not choose an IT major, no matter what direction they choose for a career path they must consider information technology into their plans to some degree. The internet, computers and the exchange of information among them will only expand, not only as a career path, but for most industries as time progresses.

If I were a student today considering a career choice I would seriously consider IT. But if for some reason that doesn’t appeal to you as a major, you should consider it for a minor. With more and more industries using IT to an increasingly greater degree it would be wise to even try to make it a second major instead. And to those of us adults who have already been in the work place for quite some time it will prove beneficial to expand your job possibilities and become more marketable by furthering your education in this growing field as you will at some point have to compete against those college grads who were smart enough to plan their careers with IT in mind.

As I have chosen to be self employed and to work from home I am realizing the importance of continuing my education regarding the major tool that I use to conduct my business, which is my computer and the internet. There are various sources on the web that will help you search for the best choices for furthering your education. Cisco is quickly becoming a world leader in the IT field through their Cisco certification. Check out their website for more information about their training programs.
