Chicago Trip

I’ve been to Chicago several times over the years. My most favorite memory of the Windy City was my first trip though. My husband and I went a couple of years after we were married for the weekend. We went because he had a seminar he had to attend and the hotel was paid for by his employer. It was the first time I had ever been to a big city. I was pregnant at the time with my first child and wasn’t so sure about venturing off while my husband was working, but I did anyway. For such a big city I felt quite safe with all the police walking around so I did end up going pretty far from the hotel. After my husband was finished with his seminar we went to the Navy Pier and to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. We had fun just walking around and looking at everything. There is so much to see in Chicago. We also found time to take a double decker tour and a boat tour as well.

If you are planning a trip to Chicago you will want to first research things to do in Chicago. Or if you are planning on going to some of our countries other big city tourist spots such as New York’s Metropolitan museum of art you could use Trusted Tours & Attractions. They have a newsletter that may help with some of your future trips and if you sign up during their special promotion you have the chance to win a $150 iTunes gift card(offer expires July 31,2008). They also have other online travel guides to assist you with your future trips that offer the information you'll need all in one spot saving you time and a lot of unnecessary stress.

You Can Make A Difference By Being A Team Captain

The Alzheimer's Memory Walk is going to be held a weekend morning this fall. It is the nations largest event to raise funds for Alzheimer's and is held by the Alzheimer's Association. There are walks in more than 600 communities which will consist of two to three miles. You can make a difference by volunteering to be a team captain and help rid our world of this terrible disease.

I first heard about Alzheimer's when I was about ten years old. Mrs. Greene was a family friend that lived up the street from us with her husband of fifty years or so. I remember one particular day that my Mom and I paid a visit after she had been ill for some time. Mrs. Greene told my Mom that she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and that the worst part about it was that she knew she was loosing her memories. She said even-though she tried real hard at times she just couldn’t remember everything any more. Mr. Greene sat quietly while his wife described her fears and frustrations and only talked when she had trouble with the right words. I don’t remember ever seeing Mrs. Greene after that. I have never forgotten the fear and loss I heard in her voice that day. Over twenty five years later my son had to experience some of those same feelings of empathy for my husband’s aunt. Aunt Bettie loved my son dearly and spent time with him when he was younger teaching him how to paint. She was diagnosed when my son was about twelve. It wasn’t too long later that she started getting confused and thought my son was actually my husband. This mind robbing disease has touched my family, has it touched yours? If it hasn't yet it might as one person is diagnosed with Alzheimer's every 71 seconds.

Is Ebay Moving Away From The Average Seller?

Sellers who use Ebay are having an ever increasing hard time making ends meet. Not only do they have to deal with the fact that the economy is not doing so well, but also with Ebay's ever changing policies. They began the seller bashing by increasing the fees both for Ebay and Paypal and if that wasn't enough they also decided that comments from the seller regarding buyer transactions had no significants. During this time the sellers had two separate boycotts to attempt to show Ebay how unhappy they were with the policy changes. Ebay to date has not only not changed any of their policies back, but has made further steps away from the average seller. Recently they have begun allowing buy.com to list large quantities of merchandise at a lower cost that Ebays average sellers. Between the larger quantities and the lower to no cost shipping the buy.com merchandise will be showing higher up the list than everyone else's thus getting more of the sales. Does Ebay not realize that the very people that are average sellers that they are turning their backs on are also the same people that do much of the purchasing?

Used Prices

For those selling on ebay it sometimes is difficult to know what price to set merchandise at whether it be the starting value for auction or through the storefronts. Choosing the right price can determine whether money is made or sometimes lost. There is a website called Used Price that will not only help people with auctions and sales, but also for retailers, pawn shops, collectors and maybe even at tax time for checking the value of donations. This site gives the used equipment value of products in various categories. The site is very user friendly and allows you to enter exact model numbers for a more accurate value.

Know It All

If you are one of those people who know a little about everything you might want to consider putting all that knowledge to some use with ChaCha.com. I have it on a long list of maybes, but haven't tried it yet personally. From what I gather people with cell phones text a question and that question can be about almost anything, and the ChaCha guide suppose to provide the answer. The starting pay is $0.15 per response and goes up after trial period to $0.20.

StoreFront Builder

Do you want to make more money on the internet? Most internet entrepreneurs would respond with a big yes to that question. Working online offers much freedom, but with that freedom comes some risk. It is necessary for online entrepreneurs to diversify. Spreading resources amongst several different income streams helps to prevent losing too much money if one source should become less relevant. One way to diversify on the internet is to have a store front. It has become quite easy to set up a store by using a storefront builder AmeriCommerce's shopping cart software allows multiple storefronts in one easy to read location. It's also easy for the customers by providing one page checkout. Right now they are offering a 14 day free trial.

Way Back Machine

Those people that have said anything put on the internet will be there forever are correct. The internet archive website at www.archive.org may surprise the person that thought their content they had on the internet back in 'o2 is still able to be seen. All that needs to be done is type in the web address in the waybackmachine slot or you can just browse around by category. This site is both interesting and a bit concerning at the same time. Before putting anything on the internet a person really needs to stop and think about if they really want all the world to see their content for many years to come.

TrafficXplode 2.0

Card4
Blogging is changing the internet. For a long time the importance of having a website for a business was enough. But as time has progressed some people realized that just putting up a website was not enough to draw traffic to those smaller businesses that did not already have brand awareness. The small business owners that wanted to focus their attentions online needed to do more. Thus some blogs were born out of the desire to compete with the bigger guys. Blogging has since become so popular and in many respects necessary that businesses both small and big are using this platform to communicate on a more personal level with their customer base. Blogging is an ever changing form of communication over the internet. The direction that this platform will take in the future is anyones guess, but going along for the ride will surely be interesting.

If there is one thing a blog must have in order to have any effectiveness it is traffic. Every blogger knows that getting that traffic takes work and is definitely not easy. Tools that will assist bloggers to be more effective at getting traffic to their blogs will be an area of growth over the next several years.TrafficXplode2.0 is one such tool that will draw traffic in and help further gain traffic through a viewers friends and contacts. The Eighties Are Back

Temp-image_1_1

Growing up in the eighties was the best time to be a teenager. There were many movies that came out of that time period that are considered classics today. There are too many to list them all, but one of my all time favorites was Ferris Bueller. What a great movie. At the time I first saw that movie I was a teenager in high school. I loved that Ferris played by Matthew Broderick talked straight into the camera....to me. What teenager wouldn’t like to skip school and go joy riding in a sports car. I lived vicariously through Ferris for the length of that movie.

Matthew Broderick’s movies were must see flicks for many teenagers during that time period. Another movie he did was WarGames, which was about hacker that unknowingly get to play a game with the US Military's war computer. War Games was a movie so very ahead of it’s time. Computers were not in almost every home like they are today and although hacker is a common word now, not so much so in the eighties. On Thursday, July 24th in select theaters nationwide there will be a 25th Anniversary showing of the original movie and will also include never before seen interviews with the people involved in making this great movie. If you are lucky enough to go you will see a sneak peak of the sequel WarGames: The Dead Code.

Get Paid To Try

Gptt240
There are many different methods to earn money by using the internet. When I first started searching women's blogs and sites for ideas many times I ran into people that earn cash by taking surveys. I wasn’t so sure about this method at first, but I decided to give it a try despite my reservations. Some of the sites that I originally tried I have stuck with, while others I stopped using because there wasn’t much benefit. Overall I enjoy doing the surveys as I know I am not only getting something for my time, but also affecting companies decisions on products and services. Having a voice in corporate America, however small is a good thing.

There is a site called Get Paid To Try that will pay you for several types of tasks. These tasks are easy and some you would be doing anyway. They give you $20 just for signing up and completing the member bonus. You also have the ability to do surveys, which I already stated that many women(including me) already enjoy doing. Also you can get paid to try various products and services found on the website. For example I found that if you want to sign up to try Blockbuster Online video rental you’ll receive $18 and $16.20 just to try Netflix. Getting paid to watch movies and without leaving your home sounds like a great offer. If it sounds good to you too Click here to begin.

How To Know How

We live in a very fast paced society. The internet has only increased the need for people to want information at lighting fast speed. When people use to have to go to the library or a bookstore to search for information now can be pulled up at home in a matter of seconds. There is a new site called ehow.com that will not only give you simple step by step instructions on how to do everything imaginable, but in a quick read style. You won't find too much lengthy rambling here, just the information you want. And if you know something that may help someone else you can write for them as well.

Money Savvy

For_advertiser_profile
Everyone knows that we are living in difficult times right now. Savings are dwindling as food and gas prices continue to rise. The average person was living paycheck to paycheck before the economy started having trouble, but now they are having even more problems and are afraid of what tomorrow may bring. Most people are quite resilient during difficulties such as these and will find a way that will work for their family and will come through this time period with nothing more than a few scares and stories to tell future generations.

But right now for people to weather this storm the internet may be a life preserver in their time of need. With information comes power which adds up to choices and the internet provides that for many people. During times such as these people are reminded of how important financial information can be in helping to provide a sense of security and stability when many have none. Seeking Debt help may be an option to Debt relief. If other options fail to provide enough help there is always Debt consolidation. And that is the beauty of having the internet available to research all of the options so that no decision during a crisis is made to hastily.

For now I am one of the lucky ones who although a little uneasy, I do have a little security knowing I do have some savings to help weather this storm for a little while. I do know however that I still have much work to be done as the family saving continues to go down. I did take the online BillsIQ quiz and only got a C 78%, which means I have a whole lot of learning to do. I want to make sure I never am in a position that would allow me to make a rash decision without knowing all the facts first. I will be striving for a higher BillsIQ score which will mean I'll be a more savvy person and probably with money in the bank.

Not much of a poet, but here's a little haiku just for you:
How can you save money now
Food and fuel costs
And all you get is bad gas

New iphone 3G Not An Ideal Fit For Me

I love Apple. I am writing this post on an 24in imac and my husband has 160gb Ipod classic and when I get enough money from my business going I'll be buying a laptop. The new iphone 3G will be out Friday, but I will not be one of the people waiting in line for the next best Apple product. I'm not sure why, but Apple deciding to go just with AT&T was not a wise move in my opinion. I'm sure that there is some way around using AT&T if you are not one of the lucky people who lives in their calling area, but I just don't want to mess with it. Why not give more options to consumers of Apple products....I just don't get it.

What Did You Say?

Have you ever wanted to travel abroad, but wondered about the language barrier? Or how about brushing up on those language skills for a class you are taking or have taken and can't seem to remember. The BBC at bbc.co.uk/languages/ offers several languages that you can learn for free on their site. It is only for beginners and would work well to go along with a program you are already taking for practice. It would also be great for anyone who may need to learn some communication skills before traveling. Just remember if you don't use it you'll loose it. I took 3 1/2 years of French and remember very little.

Moms Can Stay At Home And Earn Money

There are a lot of moms who would like to earn a living and yet stay home with their children. It is not easy to be gone all day at work knowing that someone else is raising your children. But yet mothers go off to work every day knowing that they have to put a roof over their children's heads and food in their mouths. The guilt of being a working mother is tremendous at times, which is why so many moms try to find work at home jobs. Some of these so called jobs give moms the hope of making enough money to stay home with their families, but that is about all they give. There are so many companies that prey on the hopes and dreams of mothers that wish to work at home that it is difficult to know which work and which are just out to make a buck.

Any mom who works at home already, knows that there is money to be made by using the greatest tool available to her...the internet. There are many ways to make legitimate money online, but the trick is knowing which are really legit. Any mom who wishes to work from home should do some research first. And never pay a company first before you can begin earning money, this screams Scam. A good way to find out how other mothers are making money working at home is to read some of their blogs. There are many blogs written by moms who will gladly give advice to those in need.

I myself started out wanting to freelance write. I began with a blog, then two using a free blogging company, which lead me to payperpost with one of my blogs. I enjoyed that so well I decided to use SocialSpark with this blog. SocialSpark allows me to make money and stay home with my kids blogging about what I already know. And I don’t have to go door to door, have parties or by products to make money. I simply started a blog using no money, except for my domain name, which you don’t even need to do that and in no time you will be earning money too.
