Ebay Seller Changes Again

Ebay is at it again. Starting in October they will be setting limits on shipping and handling charges for products such as books and video games among others. They state that they want more uniform charges. That alone doesn't seem like a bad idea, but the problem is that some of the shipping fees will actually be lower than what it will cost sellers to ship the products. A seller has to go to several different links in order to figure this information out from an email that was recently sent. Ebay softened the blow to sellers wallets by lowering there insertion fees, which was stated right in detail in the body of the email.

Readers Digest Helps To Decide If You're Nuts

Are You Normal or Nuts? Readers Digest ponders this question in one of their articles online. What is considered normal anyway? What one person considers normal may be quite crazy to another. There are some celebrities that have some pretty odd behavior and they are not even too ashamed to talk about it. For celebrities and other people with money it is not a question of Are You Normal or Nuts? , for them many times it is just considered eccentric behavior. All the less than wealthy people in the world do question their level of crazy at time though. Readers Digest has picked some questions people have regarding this topic that pretty far out there and makes a person wonder about the people in line next to you at the grocery store. Maybe everyone is a little nuts. One person in the article was wondering if it’s normal to not have had a second date in three years. You would think that this person would know that this is not normal, but once you read this article you may wonder how many people are out there walking around who are a little nuts. In the article they also mention funny stuff adults may have carried over from childhood like saying knock on wood or bunny, bunny at the beginning of a month. Feedly Is Sure to Please

If magazines are where it's at for quick bits of information then Feedly is worth looking into for the closest thing over the internet. Feedly is an add on for Firefox 3 that takes all the RSS Feeds and puts them on one start page, which will save the email in box from getting overloaded. With the annotation tool interesting items can be clipped and easily shared with others. It is even possible to share them using the Twitter integration feature. It also integrates with Google Reader so that a feed that's added to Google Reader is also added to Feedly. Not only does it have all the favorite RSS feeds in one spot, but it's also smart enough to be able to suggest other material that may be just as interesting. Once you've tried Feedly you won' t want to use anything else.

Funny Videos and Cash Too

Puppy Vs. Mirror - The best video clips are here
All video makers who haven't already done so may want to check out Metacafe. Or if watching short videos is the preference this site is sure to please. They offer short form original videos. The state the "videos are user-generated, user-selected, user-reviewed and user-rewarded." They have chosen a slightly different path than YouTube by not allowing news pieces, personal stuff or videos with a lot of talking. The producer rewards program seems to be appealing also. They pay $5 for every 1000 page views after the video goes over 20,000 views. That seems like a lot, but from some of the dollar earnings that are shown next to the more popular videos makes one want to take of the practice of making videos even if there is no desire before. The above video has only made $130, but the users total as of July 31 '08 says $20,023....not bad for videos many may already have lying around.

Worlds Biggest Search Engine

Have you heard about the new search engine? Cuil is boasting that they search more pages than Google and Microsoft. I think that is a bold statement to make and only time will tell if their searches are worth your time. They state that their searches are based on content and relevance to the keywords you enter and not on other "superficial" methods that competing search engines use. They also state that they analyze the web and note the users and will not collect any personal data. I have read that Cuil creators are previous employees of Google. I'm not so sure they will be able to knock Google off their pedestal, but it will be interesting to follow this new search engine to see if it will change how searches are handled.

Viddiction Possibly The New YouTube?

YouTube just may have some competition to worry about in the near future. There is a new website called Viddiction.com that is in Beta right now that has the potential to bring in many viewers as well as video producers. They are claiming that unlike YouTube who sells feature spots to companies such as CNN and MTV they will never do that. Their way will give the average person’s video a better chance to be seen. The even offer cash for videos. After you sign up and post a video you just need to indicate that you want the videos view count to go toward their popularity points system(you can only do this though if you’re not breaking copyright laws). Once you’ve done this you can start promoting your videos on blogs and such and start accumulating points that go toward prizes ranging from $50-$500. They also have competitions other monthly competitions as well. Like right now their competition is called College Video Fever and the first prize is $500 and even the second prize is $300. Not bad money for something you may already be doing for other sites anyway. They have one listed under the Humor/Comedy section posted by daydreamer about a guy who seems to be coughing and his head looks likes it comes right off and scares a whole bunch of people it really made me laugh. This is a site worth watching for future growth and using if you are into the making your own videos.
